Ward's Entry Way
This entry was constructed here in Austin and sent
to Florida to await installation in a new home being built
by some friends of mine. It's kind of remeniscent of palm
trees and bamboo, but still fairly abstract. Leslie does
some really nice stained glass pieces and used to buy some
supplies from me. Look for her at some shows around Central
and North Florida.

Kate McPartlin's Windows
I really like it when a client gives me some
free rein with the design and the colors. These windows are
in a house not far from my studio. The design is based on
some rock formations I had a picture of. I think they kind
of flow like water. I used mostly Kokomos and Spectrums in
these windows.

La Sirena
A window that I built for my own bathroom. It's
based on the Mexican "Lotteria" children's game card of
La Sirena. There's a lot of
Uruboros, Youhgeheny and Bullseye glass in here. The hair is
some beautiful Fremont glass that I've been
hoarding.

Stony Point Tiger
The Senior Class of 2002 at Stony Point High
School in Round Rock, Texas comissioned this panel as a gift
to the school. It's approximately 3ft by 6ft.

Diskin's Water Window
A window for a custom home here in Austin. It
sits above a large tub and represents water with a floor of
stones. I used about 40 different types of glass in the
stones. The glass for the water didn't come out as well as
I'd hoped in the picture. There are actually 4 types of
glass as the water.

Roeglin's Round Window
A round porthole over a tub. This was installed
here in Austin in Feb. '01. Just kind of a random geometric
design.

McGregor's Fish Window
I did this window of fish to hang above a
sliding glass door looking out over a pool. I used quite a
combination of cathedral and opalescent glasses, with quite
a bit of iridescent on the fish. The piece consists of two
panels in an oak frame. It is just over two feet high, and
just over eight feet long.

Wichowski's Wall Hanging
A panel I did for a fellow in Michigan who saw
this site. His name is Wichowski, if you couldn't guess. I
did the name and the eagle in the coat of arms in
sandblasted flashed glass. Flashed glass is one color
"floated" on top of another color or (in this case) clear.
For the name, I sandblasted away the red and put a piece of
white behind. The eagle is three layers of glass. One of red
on clear flash, one of white on clear flash, and one of
black.

The Hooks' Window
In March of '99 I removed an existing divided
light window, cut the center dividers out of the frame, and
installed this victorian arch and the plate glass beneath.
It sits in a wonderful 1930's house in Austin.

The Mermaid Window
In November of '98 I installed a three panel
piece in the Creaseys' residence. We had worked for most of
the last year on the design. The piece measures 10 feet wide
by 5 1/2 feet high. It sits between the living room and
dining room. The diagonal line transforms from porpoises to
mermaids. I will try to get some better pictures up
soon.

Fitzgeralds' Entryway
My grandparents made a set of sidelights for the
Fitzgeralds' entryway in the middle seventies. The colors
and style were beginning to look a bit dated, so I was asked
to take the existing glass and update it.
|

|
|
|
I took the sidelights apart, and used the
diamonds as kind of "inserts" in the new sidelights and
door. It really brightened up the whole area of the
house!

The Kerrville Windows
In 1996 I contracted to do the largest
installation I've ever done. The piece constisted of 4
windows, one 4' x 8', one 7.5' x 6' x 4', and two small
triangles. I was neer able to get decent pictures of the two
small triangles, so they are not pictured here. The total
size was over 75 square feet of glass. The windows are in
the Twin Boar ranch house outside of Kerrville, TX. All are
installed 9 feet above the floor.

The homeowner wanted a nature scene, and looked
through many pattern books picking out different features
and animals that he wanted. some came from pattern books,
but most were of my own design. This detail shows the deer,
one duck, the bass, the butterflies, and the background. The
design also includes a windmill, a rabbit, 2 more ducks, a
frog, a squirrel, an owl, wildflowers, a dragonfly, and of
course, two wild boars!

Flamingo Window
A window in Denton, TX that was one of the first
large pieces I made. The homeowners wanted the flamingo and
the seahorses. I thought the vivid sunset colors and the
unusual perspective made it a little more non-traditional
looking. This 3 foot x 4 foot window is installed above a
large tub, and is visible from Interstate 35.
